And I think to myself; what a wonderful world.

Today we went with the students to take part in a sports "competition" event for disabled children from different integration schools from our area and around. The day was full of laughter and happiness from the very first moment the bus engine started roaring and we headed towards Nowa Ruda. For me this day was also good for improving my polish as none of the teachers who came with us speaks english and only few of the children do (but not so well). But that for me is the best way to learn; when I have no other choice. It makes me so happy to see that I can actually make some conversation in polish and even though I don't understand everything and it's sometimes hard for me to make  sentences, I understand a lot of words and learn new ones all the time; it's just a lot of brain work and putting pieces together. Sometimes I have to ask people to speak a little bit slower. And if that doesn't work... just smile politely. But most of the polish people are so nice; whenever someone talks to me and I tell them przeprasam nie rozumiem po polsku, they try in english if they can, or just laugh. Maybe they are just amused by my pronounciation.

After putting the nametags on the competition was ready to begin. There was a lot of students and many different kinds of fun tasks and games to perform. Everyone was smiling and enjoying and the children were so excited. Positive atmosphere in general.
These children just warm my heart.

Our very own football star.

My lovely indonesian colleague Reny. She's also working in my school and has such an amazing personality and is so great with kids. I'm so happy that she will be here for my whole stay.

After lunch and the final games came the time for the prize ceremony. Everyone received a medal and the winning teams even trophies. My children were so sweet being all proud for their medals.

My dear Kacper showing his medal ("Ida! Ida! Look! Look!") and one of the winning teams celebrating their victory.

I'm not a very good cook but i'm still very passionate about food. Right now my number one choice is turkish cuisine. Even though I haven't experienced it that much, one of my friends is an awesome cook and every experience I've had with turkish food, I will always remember and value. Iit's the kind of food and food culture that fits our life and lifestyle, somewhat simple and good for a group of people to enjoy their time together. Yesterday was kebab friday.

I still don't know how the oven works. Neither does anyone else.

A lot of pictures today, but they're worth like a thousand words each so I think it's acceptable.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky.
Are also on the faces,  of people going by,
I see friends shaking hands. saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, "I love you".

  1. Hieno kirjoitus taas.
