Long weekend is over

Today is Narodowe Święto Niepodległości, The Independence day of Poland. So I'm having a day off work. We decided to take the opportunity and explore Kłodzko with Birgit. I realized that I actually know very little about my home town; I live so near to the centre and the train station that I don't have much business around anywhere else. The city felt different, not only because of all the new places we discovered but also the winter feels very much closer than before. The streets were almost empty of people and the weather was cold, grey and somehow heavy.

We even found a bridge with love locks. Only a couple of them and like the most unromantic bridge ever over Nysa Kłodzka, one of the ugliest rivers I have seen (at that part of it at least). And here, our train station which is a very familiar place, but I have never walked through this tunnel to the other side of the city than just to hitchhike on the parking lot.
And of course I will find these places wherever I go. This one isn't so hard to find though, because it's providing shelter to homeless citizens right next to the station in the middle of the city. It has a sign declaring it's on sale though, but I guess it has already been for a while.

This has been the first weekend in a long time that I have spent all of it at home. It feels good to just chill out, kick back and really relax for once. I've been doing really nothing useful this weekend (except for How I Met Your Mother marathon last night). I was missing Finland a little bit because of the Karjala Cup icehockey tournament, and the fact that I couldn't watch the games. But we won so I'm happy anyway and just happy enough searching for clips on Youtube. Tomorrow I will go back to work, polish lessons, back to my normal weekly routines. It feels just as good. And I'm really looking forward to the future for I have a lot of nice plans waiting for me in the next few weeks.
